An agreement was made between the Attorney General and petitioners' lawyers regarding the 2023 Weligama shooting incident.

As per the agreement, the AG has directed the CID not to arrest the OIC of the Colombo Crimes Division and 5 others, except for former IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon.
