Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today (9) that ex-State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias ‘Pillayan’ had prior knowledge of the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings. 

Pillayan, currently detained over other criminal charges, is also suspected to have had contact with intelligence officers. 

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is reviewing the 67,000-page Easter attacks report as investigations continue.
