The new British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Andrew Patrick, presented his credentials to President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (23).
“The last 75 years of our relationship has shown how much our countries can achieve together and the significant contribution of the Sri Lankan community in the United Kingdom (UK),” Patrick said.
From 2009 to 2013, Patrick served as the Additional Director – South Asia of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and from 2013 to 2018, as the British Ambassador to Myanmar. He was the UK’s Migration and Modern Slavery Envoy from February of last year (2022) to May of this year (2023).
