Traffic heading towards Galle and Matara on the Southern Expressway has been disrupted following a bus fire, police said.

Motorists travelling in that direction have been instructed to exit through the Welipenna Interchange due to congestion.

Police are managing traffic in the area while emergency teams respond to the incident.
