Showers will occur at times in Sabaragamuwa Province and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts today(17), the Department of Meteorology stated.

Several spells of showers are also expected in the Western and North-Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur in parts of Uva Province, Ampara and Batticaloa after 2 p.m.

Strong winds of 30–40 kmph are possible in several provinces, with the public advised to take precautions during thundershowers.
