Matale District netball team, led by Lakshika Aluvihare and coached by Manjari Perera bagged the Central Province netball title for the first time by defeating reigning champions Kandy District netball team by 21-17 in a closely contested game played at the Digana Indoor Sports Stadium in Kandy recently.

The Central Provincial netball tournament conducted under the third phase of the National Sports Festival 2025, saw the participation of the three champion teams representing the districts Matale, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya.
