The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) will hold a digital payments promotional event on 1 and 2 August at the Dambulla Dedicated Economic Centre as part of its 2025 campaign themed ‘Shaping the future through digital payments’.

CBSL Governor Nandalal Weerasinghe and senior officials will attend the event, which focuses on encouraging the public to adopt secure and convenient digital payment methods. Financial institutions, mobile money providers, and LankaPay will offer hands-on support to participants.

Visitors can open accounts, register for payment apps, resolve digital payment issues, and even receive free credit reports from CRIB. Attendees can also enjoy exclusive discounts on goods from local businesses when paying digitally.

Ahead of the main event, a special merchant awareness drive will be conducted in Sigiriya, Habarana, and Dambulla from 29 to 31 July to promote LANKAQR adoption among businesses.
