The police have announced that traffic laws will be rigorously enforced across the country throughout the festive season. 

Deputy Inspector General of Traffic Control and Road Safety, W. P. J. Senadheera, stated that special teams have been deployed to ensure compliance with traffic regulations and prevent congestion, especially in busy shopping areas.  

Shop owners have been advised to provide sufficient parking or alternative arrangements for customers to ease traffic flow. 

Authorities have also been instructed to take strict action against violations, particularly improper roadside parking, to ensure safety and smooth travel during the festive period.
