The Speaker of the Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana endorsed two bills yesterday (13), including the reciprocal recognition, registration and enforcement of foreign judgements Act no. 49 of 2024 and the code of criminal procedure (amendment) Act no. 50 of 2024.
Accordingly, the bills, passed after the second reading on 3 september, update laws on recognizing foreign court judgments and amend the 1979 criminal procedure act.
