A multi-day fishing vessel, intercepted by the Sri Lanka Navy off the western coast, has been brought to Dikkowita Fisheries Harbour this morning(02).

The vessel was seized yesterday during a special naval operation based on credible intelligence regarding a large narcotics consignment. 

Navy officers apprehended six suspects on board. 

Preliminary reports indicate the boat was carrying over one hundred kilograms of drugs, including crystal methamphetamine (ice) and heroin. The operation successfully prevented the suspected smuggling attempt in deep seas.
