S. Thomas’ College cruised to victory beating Science College 59-35 in a ‘Mount Lavinia Derby’ played at CR & FC Grounds in Longden Place yesterday (26) in their President’s Trophy Knockout pre-quarter final clash.
At half-time, the ‘School by the Sea’ had clearcut dominance as they were on a roll, 33 points against 14.
Mayanka Dias, Sithul Perera, and Udan Bulathsinhalage put on a stellar show for the Thomians.
S. Thomas’ College scored through nine tries and seven conversions.
Science College in reply were fighting till the last breath, scoring five tries and skipper Oshada Dilruwan converted all.
STC started off the game with a bang, scoring in the left flank opposite the clubhouse through M. Karunaratne.
The Thomians will face the winner of the Trinity-Antonian clash.
