The government has increased the fertiliser subsidy for farmers by Rs. 5,000, raising the allocation to Rs. 30,000 per hectare.
Commissioner General of Agrarian Development Dhammika Ranatunga said today (05) that 502,836 farmers across Sri Lanka will benefit from the programme.
The government has allocated Rs. 10.947bn for the subsidy.
The full amount will be credited to farmers’ accounts in a single payment, according to the Department of Agrarian Development.
