The U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka, in partnership with the Sri Lanka Navy, has officially opened a new English Language Lab at the Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee. 

The facility was inaugurated on 15 September.

The lab is equipped with modern multimedia technology and training software from the U.S. Defense Language Institute. 

Its purpose is to enhance the English proficiency of Navy personnel, a crucial skill for international naval operations and training.

According to Lt. Col. Matthew House of the U.S. Embassy, the lab symbolizes the ongoing cooperation between the two nations, strengthening their long-term partnership beyond just military hardware.
