The second Kumbal Perahera of the 2026 Kandy Esala Perahera paraded the streets of Kandy last night (19), beginning at 6.41 p.m. from the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

A notable feature was Janaraja, an elephant belonging to the Sri Dalada Maligawa, carrying the casket for the first time in 25 years.

The third Kumbal Perahera is scheduled to parade the streets tonight (20).
