A Special Cabinet Subcommittee and Officials’ Committee have reviewed measures to address the possible impacts of El Niño conditions.

The committee, chaired by Environment Minister Dr Dammika Patabendi, discussed action plans related to agriculture, food security, plantations, water management and energy.

Officials also reviewed short, medium and long-term measures prepared by government institutions based on weather forecasts.
