The Sri Lanka Navy performed a 25-gun salute from SLNS Sayura off Galle Face Green to mark the 78th Independence Day.

The Navy stated the salute was conducted under the guidance of the Commander of the Navy.

Meanwhile, the main Independence Day celebrations were held at Independence Square in Colombo under President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
