The Cabinet has granted approval for the updated National Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy.

The policy was revised to align with the government's 'Prosperous Nation, Beautiful Life' manifesto and economic development objectives, aiming to ensure fair distribution and the sustainable management of aquatic resources. 

The proposal, which has received clearance from the National Planning Department, was submitted by the Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic Resources and Ocean Resources.
