The Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced that the 24-hour one-day passport issuance service will end tomorrow (30).

This service, which commenced on 18 February 2025, will be replaced with revised operating hours starting Monday, 2 June.

Thereafter, one-day passport applications will be accepted at the head office in Battaramulla between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., including for pre-booked or urgent cases.

General Service applications at the head office and all services at regional branches will continue during the same time window.
