At least 17 people were injured when a van veered off the road and fell down a precipice in the Ramboda Ella-R.B. Watta area on the Nuwara Eliya - Gampola main road.

The injured, all from Rajanganaya, were admitted to Kotmale Hospital with minor injuries, according to reports.

The accident occurred just 1.5 kilometres from the site of the recent fatal bus crash.
