Sri Lankan fast bowler Kasun Rajitha has signed with Essex for their next 5 county championship matches.

The 31-year-old, who has taken 55 wickets in 18 test matches, reunites with former Sri Lanka head coach and current Essex director of cricket Chris Silverwood.

Silverwood praised Rajitha's experience and said he would boost Essex's bowling lineup.

Rajitha, proud to join the team, thanked both Silverwood and Sri Lanka Cricket for the opportunity.

He is expected to debut this weekend against Worcestershire.
