The National System Operator (NSO) has decided not to seek an electricity tariff increase for the fourth quarter of 2026, covering October to December.
The decision was announced at a stakeholder consultation on 5 November, with the NSO citing existing reservoir water levels and forecasts of above-normal rainfall to support hydropower generation.
The NSO had initially requested a 2.88% increase, while the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) had proposed a reduced increase of 1.46%.
The final tariff decision remains subject to the PUCSL's regulatory review and public consultation process.
