The All-Island School Children Transportation Association says school transport fares may be increased following the recent fuel price revision.

Secretary Malshri de Silva stated that diesel price increases have made a fare revision necessary.

He said the adjustment will not be a fixed percentage and will be decided after discussions with parents.

He added that operators are facing operational difficulties, making a fare increase unavoidable to some extent.
