HIV infections in Sri Lanka are increasing, particularly among 20–24-year-olds, despite a global decline, the National STD/AIDS Control Programme reported.
Approximately 5,700 people are currently living with HIV in the country, Venereologist Dr. Vino Dharmakulasinghe stated during a World AIDS Day briefing.
Health officials also noted a rise in schoolchildren seeking treatment for back pain, attributed to heavy school bags and prolonged use of mobile devices.
