The United National Party (UNP) expects a “mixed reaction” from voters in the results of the concluded parliamentary election.
“I think it will be an open situation, a rather mixed reaction,” UNP Assistant Secretary and former parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake told The Morning.
He said it was too early to make a call on their election outcome.
“Now that the election is over, it is a pretty hard question to answer, but we expect a decent representation this time around.”
He then lauded the peaceful election process.
“What we could reflect is that the polls have been lower than normal expectations, but it was a peaceful election as reports claim.”
