Health guidelines properly followed: GMOA

By Maheesha Mudugamuwa The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) said it is satisfied with the level of health guidelines followed at polling stations around the country. GMOA Vice President Dr. Sagara Kannangara told The Morning that as per reports submitted by the officials attached to the GMOA who had visited the polling stations around the country, the election officials have followed the health guidelines given by the authorities, despite few lapses reported in some areas. The polling stations had also followed the necessary guidelines, and adequate sanitary facilities had been provided for voters at all polling stations. He said that overall there was no threat of an added risk of spreading Covid-19 due to the election process.
