UNP WC to decide party leader in first week of Sept

  The United National Party (UNP) Working Committee that met this evening is to decide on the next party leader in the first week of September. The Working Committee that met at 3.30pm at the party headquarters, Sirikotha concluded after over two hours with the decision that the party leader will be decided early next month. Accordingly, the Working Committee is to meet during the first week of September. Also, the Working Committee has reached a decision that contenders for the party leadership should either be an office bearer of the party or a member of the Working Committee member.
