AG serves indictments on Rajitha and former SPC Chairman

    The Colombo High Court has today (28) served indictments on former Minister Rajitha Senaratne and former Chairman of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC) Mohamed Rumie over the controversial white van media briefing held prior to the Presidential election in November 2019. The Colombo High Court earlier issued summons on Senaratne and Rumie to appear in Courts today. Senaratne is accused of organiding the controversial press briefing on 10 November ahead of the 2019 Presidential Election while Rumie is accused of funding the two men who appeared at the press conference claiming to be a victim and driver of white van abductions. Senaratne was last year arrested, remanded, and later granted bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate.
