Heavy rain and strong winds have affected 12,142 individuals from over three thousand families across 14 districts in Sri Lanka.

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) confirmed four deaths due to weather-related incidents. In addition, around 480 houses sustained damage from the incessant rain.

The DMC urges the public to use the 117 emergency hotline for any disaster or weather-related crisis.
