A 41-year-old woman has been arrested by the Horana Special Crimes Investigation Unit for allegedly defrauding Rs.2mn from a victim by promising overseas employment.

Police said the complaint was lodged with the unit, leading to an investigation.

The suspect, a resident of the Panadura area, was arrested in the Alubomulla Police Division.

Further investigations are continuing.
