President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has called on the World Bank to help convey the transparent, corruption-free nature of Sri Lanka’s current Governance to the global community, stating that it would boost the country's chances of attracting new investment.

The President made the request during a meeting with a World Bank delegation led by Vice President Johannes Zutt yesterday (15).

The World Bank representatives expressed appreciation for Sri Lanka’s economic program and recommended a greater focus on economic growth and job creation in key areas like digitalization, tourism, and agriculture.

They also confirmed that assistance had been approved for programs submitted by the government.

President Dissanayake emphasized that the Government is actively working to stabilize the economy and establish a legal framework to attract new investment.

He stressed that the administration's transparent policies are enabling the country to achieve steady progress and shed its previous label as a corrupt nation.
