The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL) has announced that a Special General Meeting (SGM) will be held on 14 March at 4:00 p.m. at the Hemasiri Fernando Auditorium, Olympic House, Independence Avenue, Colombo.
The meeting, convened in accordance with Article 15.7 of the NOC Sri Lanka Constitution, is officially scheduled as per the notice dated 17 February 2026.
The current term of office for NOCSL, which began in 2022, concluded on 27 December 2025. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) have informed NOCSL President Suresh Subramaniam that the election for the next four-year term (2025–2029) must be completed before 30 April.

Presentation of the IOC letter dated 12 January 2026 regarding membership eligibility of affiliated National Federations
Proposal of a date for the upcoming Elective General Meeting (EGM)
Appointment of an Independent Election Commission in line with constitutional provisions
Member federations are requested to nominate three delegates, including at least one female representative, from among their current Executive Committee members.
The notice also emphasizes that, in line with IOC instructions, any NOCSL member or official under investigation or sanctions will be barred from attending General Assembly meetings or contesting positions at upcoming elections.
Nominations must be submitted on official federation letterhead, signed by the President and Secretary General, and delivered to Olympic House on or before 3 March 2026.
