Sri Lanka has recorded 89,033 dengue cases and 64 dengue-related deaths so far this year, according to the National Dengue Control Unit.

The Western Province accounts for 47,136 cases, or 52.94% of the total. Gampaha has recorded the highest number of cases at 18,922, followed by Colombo with 17,679.

A total of 29,973 cases were reported in July, while 3,686 cases were recorded during the first seven days of August. Authorities have identified 119 high-risk MOH areas.
