Sri Lanka’s first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and the “Diyajanani” floating solar power plant in Dambulla are scheduled to be inaugurated today (18) under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The 10-megawatt BESS, constructed in Anuradhapura, is aimed at strengthening renewable energy capacity and improving national grid stability.
The 5-megawatt Diyajanani floating solar plant, built on Ibbankatuwa Wewa, is expected to provide electricity to around 10,000 households.
