Electricity tariffs have been increased with effect from today following approval from the Public Utilities Commission.
Tariffs for lower consumption brackets (0–30 units) have risen by 4.3%, while mid-range users will see increases between 6.9% and 7.2%.
Consumers using over
180 units face a significant 25% hike.
The revision comes after a request by the Ceylon Electricity Board, citing the need for a 13.56% tariff increase for the second quarter of 2026.
