The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) announced that a total of 279,328 tourists visited the country in February 2026, setting a new record for the highest monthly tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka’s history.
This figure represents a 16.2% increase compared to the same month last year.
The peak daily arrivals occurred on February 12, 2026, with 12,731 tourists arriving on that single day.
Among the visiting countries, India led with 47,679 visitors, followed by the United Kingdom with 30,788, Russia with 23,099, and Germany with 22,566 tourists.
The surge in visitor numbers highlights a positive trend in Sri Lanka’s tourism sector amid ongoing efforts to boost international arrivals.
