The Department of Prisons has granted permission for former ministers Rajitha Senaratne and Nimal Lanza to receive food from their homes while in remand custody.
According to Department spokesperson Jagath Weerasinghe, the approval was given after they submitted formal requests.
Rajitha Senaratne is currently remanded until 9 September on charges of causing a financial loss of over Rs. 20 million to the Government.
Nimal Lanza is remanded until 12 September in connection with a 2006 incident involving an alleged attack on a deputy mayor's residence.
