Legal action has been taken against seven buses operating without permits following a raid in Colombo.
Officers from the National Transport Commission (NTC) and Sri Lanka Police carried out inspections at Bastian Mawatha Bus Terminal last night (11).
NTC Director Shereen Athukorala stated that the buses, operating from People’s Park to Hatton, Nawalapitiya and Dayagama, were produced before courts.
Authorities noted the buses were operating without valid permits and charging fares above approved rates.
Commuters have been urged to use authorised services, including Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses at main terminals.
