The National Disaster Relief Services Centre (NDRSC) has stated that the distribution of drinking water to dry weather-affected districts is continuing without interruption.

NDRSC Senior Assistant Secretary Prageeth Danansooriya stated that water distribution is ongoing in Monaragala, Batticaloa, Polonnaruwa, Ampara, Badulla and Ratnapura districts.

He noted that the number of people affected has increased slightly compared to last week due to inadequate rainfall and could continue to rise until the end of September.

Residents who have not received drinking water or are experiencing supply difficulties have been advised to inform their respective Grama Niladhari official or Divisional Secretary.
