Opposition MPs have submitted a motion to Parliament seeking a debate on alleged Executive encroachment on the Judiciary.

The motion was handed over to Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne today (06).

It was submitted by Chief Opposition Whip Gayantha Karunathilaka, Deputy Whips J.C. Alawathuwala and Ajith P. Perera, along with several MPs.

The motion was prepared on the instructions of the Opposition Leader.
