The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka has extended generous support to schoolchildren and families in Moratuwa, Galle, and Matara through a donation drive titled “Culture and Care for Young Hearts, Together in Friendship.”

The initiative saw Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong personally distribute school stationery and food packages, with each school receiving donations valued at approximately Rs. 1.6 million.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Qi highlighted the enduring friendship between China and Sri Lanka, drawing on cultural proverbs to emphasise the importance of education and mutual support.

The program was attended by Deputy Minister Muneer Mulaffer, and local officials, who commended the gesture as a testament to international solidarity during challenging times.
