The Registrar of the Minuwangoda District Court has been arrested today (2) by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

The arrest is reportedly in connection with an alleged attempt to influence the wife of former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena to solicit a bribe.

The arrested Court Registrar is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court this evening.
