The wife of former State Intelligence Service Director Suresh Sallay has claimed that he was subjected to a strip search while in custody.

His wife, Manori Sallay, said the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has acknowledged that he was taken from his cell and searched.

She also said his health condition has worsened and that he is currently refusing food and water.

The CID has not issued a public statement on the allegations.
