A session was held today (10) at the Old Parliament Building to implement the Cabinet decision linking critical government institutions to the National Cyber Security Operations Centre (NCSOC).
Organized by Sri Lanka CERT and the Ministry of Digital Economy, the initiative will provide real-time threat monitoring, early warnings, and coordinated responses for public sector institutions.
Phase two, connecting the remaining government institutions, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Priority will be given to critical state bodies, which will also undergo audits by the National Audit Office.
The session highlighted the need for digital security training for public officials as Sri Lanka advances its digital economy.
Officials attending included Deputy Minister Eng. Eranga Weeraratne, Acting Secretary Waruna Sri Dhanapala, and Sri Lanka CERT Chairman Tilak Pathirage.
