The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers after 1:00 p.m. in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Southern provinces, and in Ampara, Batticaloa, and Polonnaruwa districts, with fairly heavy rainfall above 50mm likely.

Morning showers are also expected in the Western Province and in Mannar, Puttalam, Galle, and Matara.

Isolated showers may occur elsewhere in the afternoon or night. 

Misty conditions are expected in parts of Central, Uva, Ampara, and Polonnaruwa.

The public is advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
