Grama Niladhari officers have called off their trade union action following discussions with Public Administration Minister Professor Chandana Abeyratne and ministry officials today(17).

Trade union representatives stated that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake also joined the discussions by telephone and assured them that their demands would be addressed through the upcoming Budget.

The unions stated that Grama Niladhari officers will resume normal duties on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
