LOLC Finance PLC once again asserted its dominance and team spirit by clinching the coveted title of ‘Overall Champion’ at the 13th Finance Houses Association (FHA) Sports Festival, held on 10 May at the Bloomfield Grounds, Colombo. 

Bringing together 27 leading finance institutions from across the country, the FHA Sports Festival is one of the most anticipated events in the financial sector’s calendar. 

This year’s event was further elevated by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Director of Supervision of NBFIs at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) C. Jayasinghe, and CBSL Assistant Governor C. P. S. Bandara, whose attendance underscored the significance of this platform in encouraging healthy inter-company engagement.

LOLC Finance stood out across multiple disciplines with a showcase of resilience, discipline, and outstanding sporting performance. 

The company’s men’s cricket team delivered an unbeaten streak, culminating in a resounding victory over Vallibel Finance in the finals. 

Led by captain Krishantha Lakmal, the team displayed a masterclass in strategy and execution. 

Star performances from Dushantha Wickrama, who was crowned Man of the Final, and Lakmal Kumara, named Best Bowler of the Tournament, underscored the depth of talent and preparation within the LOLC camp. 

Beyond cricket, LOLC Finance also earned significant accolades across other categories. 

The company secured third place in the women’s 100m relay event thanks to a strong performance by Darshi Godaliyadda. 

Additionally, LOLC's tag rugby team delivered a strong performance throughout the tag rugby tournament, ending as runner-up after a series of fiercely contested matches.
