The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for heavy rain in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces, and Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

The advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. today (21) until 7 a.m. tomorrow (22).

Rainfall exceeding 100 mm is expected at times in the affected areas.
