Several spells of showers will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts today, the Department of Meteorology stated.

A few showers are possible in the North Western Province, while thundershowers may occur in parts of Uva and several districts after 2.00 p.m.

Winds of 30–40 kmph are expected at times in several areas, including the Central hills, North Central and North Western provinces.
