A tragic incident occurred on the Sigiriya-Pidurangala road, where a foreign national was reportedly killed after being attacked by a wild elephant.

The deceased has been identified as a 68-year-old Hungarian national, according to police reports.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim and his wife were walking along the road when the wild elephant suddenly attacked.

The Sigiriya Police Station is currently conducting further investigations into the incident.
