The Colombo Additional Magistrate’s Court has ordered a Government Analyst’s report on the safety and quality of whitening creams produced by a company owned by model Piumi Hansamali.

The order was issued by Colombo Additional Magistrate Nuwan Kaushalya on Tuesday (15) following a request from the Illegal Assets and Intellectual Property Investigations Division.

The report aims to determine whether the products are safe for human use. 

A probe has been launched into Hansamali’s assets, including a Range Rover worth Rs. 80 million, a Colombo 7 residence valued at Rs. 148 million, and 19 bank accounts, based on a complaint by civil activist Sanjaya.
